The Mary Jean Nelson Scholarship Fund awards scholarships each year to deserving students of MEA teachers. Offered to pre-college students to attend summer music camps/festivals and to college-bound music majors, these scholarships are an important part of MEA-NJ’s mission to support music education. All the recipients have been outstanding musically and academically and we encourage MEA teachers to explore with their students the possibility of scholarships to enhance their studies. The Music Educators Association of NJ is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of private piano teachers founded in 1927. Our mission is to raise the standards of private music teaching throughout New Jersey, while encouraging musical excellence and instilling a love of music in our students.
